Mick ATB 2/4/2010
Mick, the oldest Bounder at 16, slipped over to the bridge in the arms of his moms. We miss his mealtime alerts and his sweet face. Loved very much by Pat and wen

Jacob 1/8/2010
Our big boy succombed to his cancer in my arms, in our home. Jacob came from a small humane society in central FLA. WHen the lady brought him out to me, she asked, "Are you sure you want this one?". I am sure I looked at her like she had 3 heads. He was skinny, his coat was awful and he had the most beautiful eyes. He was a foster for about 6 months and then we knew he did not need to look any further, he was ours. I guess sometimes we humans do not catch on as fast as they do. Jacob is in our hearts, everything about him will be missed. He was my boy. We love you big guy, Moma wen and Pat

Daizey Doozer ATB 12/28/2009
Daizey Doozer was adopted by the Byers family in 2002 when she was 10 months old, taken from us far too early at only 8, she was loved and will be missed. She was my lap dog, my confidant, and had the softest ears I have ever held. Run free my baby girl, until we meet again. We love you, Tammara, Robert and Quenton Byers

Bubba ATB 11/28/2009
Bubba came into our lives two years ago. We dubbed him our big Christmas surprise, as he came to us just before the holiday. He had been given up by his owners at the age of 8, then adopted out to a family only to be returned after three weeks. After we he came to us, he was diagnosed with diabetes insipidus, which was easily controlled. He was one of the best dogs we ever had, a giant huggy bear. He immediately loved everyone he met. We miss him deeply. Linda Gardner

Shelby 03/13/1996 - 10/19/2009
Shelby (Oakridge Lady Shelby Mae) 03/13/1996 - 10/19/2009 Today the vet assisted our sweet Shelby to the Rainbow Bridge at 2:00 p.m. She was our youngest basset hound and was always the healthiest of the three hounds and definitely had the craziest quirks. We often said "she has the look" because she definitely had the droopy eyes when tired and the baggy skin. One silly thing about her was what we called her upside down tail. Even when she was holding it up high in happiness the end of it always reached for the ground instead of the sky. We discovered about three weeks ago that she had a mass inside her little body that was crowding organs to one side. She also had pneumonia. We treated the pneumonia and scheduled her for exploratory surgery a couple weeks later so she could be stronger. The surgery showed a tumor that was entangling itself around organs and could not be removed. The vet took a biopsy and the results were a high-grade lymphoma. We only had three more days with Shelby instead of the hoped for 2-6 months. A new x-ray showed that the tumors had doubled in size within 5 days and her poor lungs were smashed and causing her pain to breath. The other tumor was squeezing her veins so she was gradually becoming paralyzed in her back legs. We knew the kind thing for her was to let her go. At 2:00 p.m. on Monday, 10/19/09 she fell asleep peacefully. Goodbye Sweet Shelby. Thank you for the special times you provided as we adjusted to losing your buddies so close together earlier this year. You are going to be missed so much!! We know Gus and Dottie welcomed you with strong howls at the Bridge. Have fun playing with them again! We will remember you always! Tim, Janet, Maegann & Isaac
